Mid Century Modern Ikea Hack For My Office

I’ve been pretty dang obsessed with for the Mid-Century Modern style for a while now but it’s def not in my budget! Nick finally gave me the green light last fall to redo my office,Β cue the praise hands!! My first stop was re-doing my old Ikea Kallax unit. I found my ideas on Pinterest andΒ a combined a few tutorials, sadly I lost my photos of the progress as we were redoing the unit but I still have all of the links for you! I literally get asked about this piece every time I post a picture of it online and it was such a cheap DIY! It even made it through our Colorado –> Florida move fantastically.

Check out this tutorial, it’s pretty close toΒ what we did! The main differences are, we did ours in one day, we didn’t do pocket holes, we did 45-degree angles on the edges so it was more “professional” looking, and attached mid-centuryΒ mod legs! And Pinterest search – “Ikea Kallax Hack”

Materials we used:

Ikea Kallax Unit – hereΒ (we already owned this, so that saved $)
Ikea Kallax Drawers – here
Ikea Kallax Doors – here
Anthro Drawer Pulls – hereΒ (you could save $ by choosing a less expensive type!)
Wood – Lowes
Mid Century Legs – Lowes
Stain – Lowes
Wood Glue
Nail Gun

P.S. We literally drove ALL over the city of Denver searching for the right legs so we wouldn’t have to order online and it turned out the Lowe’s one mile from our house carried them #facepalm
